HOLTZ EVERYTHING: NEW GAMECOCKS COACH IS GUARANTEED $600K

          Terms of Lou Holtz's new contract at the Univ. of SC
     (USC) "guarantees him at least" $600,000 annually, which
     includes a base salary of $150,000, an additional $350,000
     from his radio and TV shows and "at least" $100,000 from his
     shoe contract, according to Bob Lang of the CHARLESTON POST
     & COURIER.  Holtz will also receive the use of two cars and
     memberships to a number of clubs, including the University
     Club Golf Course.  The USC athletic department will also pay
     the premiums for Holtz on a $600,000 life insurance policy
     and a $97,500 disability policy.  The coach will also earn a
     bonus of $25,000 if the team goes to a bowl game, $50,000
     for an SEC Championship and $75,000 for a national
     championship.  The contract, which expires on December 31,
     2003, allows either side to terminate the deal "at any time,
     with or without cause" (CHARLESTON POST & COURIER, 12/15).
