TIME IS ON OUR SIDE, YES IT IS: SKYDOME BUYS TIME ON BID

SkyDome has "requested more time to consider" the
C$100M offer from Sportsco to buy the stadium, according to
Grange & MacDonald of the Toronto GLOBE & MAIL. Sportsco
had set a deadline of yesterday at 5:00pm ET, but the delay
has been extended until next Tuesday. One source said that
"it was expected" that Interbrew SA, owners of 48% of
SkyDome and 90% of the Blue Jays, would "make a proposal to
buy the facility." But "other names that surfaced" as
potential buyers of SkyDome were Baton Broadcasting and
Delaware North (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 12/11).
LABATT CALLS MOVE TALK UGLY RUMORS: In Toronto, Rutsey
& Elliott write that industry sources said that Labatt "had
commissioned a poll asking if its beer sales would be
affected" if the Blue Jays moved from Toronto. But Labatt
spokesperson Terry Zuk said, "That is 100% not true. I
heard there was a rumour going around to that effect but I
can tell you that it is not true at all" (TOR. SUN, 12/11).
