NBA SHOPPING "INSIDE" TITLE AFTER TIME INC. DECIDES TO PASS

Time Inc. "has decided not to continue publishing"
Inside Stuff, which it has published "in tandem" with the
NBA for three years, according to Alex Kuczynski of the N.Y.
TIMES. After the January/February '99 issue, the magazine
will "revert" to the NBA. SI For Kids Publisher Cleary
Simpson, who also served as Inside Stuff's Publisher, said
that Time "was re-evaluating its young readers' market."
Inside Stuff's circulation rate base "had been holding
steady at 300,000." NBAE President Adam Silver: "It's not
the best time for us to be changing publishers, frankly.
But it is purely coincidental that the switch is happening
during the lockout." Silver said the NBA is in "discussions
with several other publishers" (N.Y. TIMES, 11/30).
