FACILITY NOTES

In Seattle, an "estimated" 75,000 entries for the
lottery awarding tickets for the Mariners' first game at
Safeco Field have been received. The Mariners "believe"
entries for the 7,000 available seats could reach 150,000
(SEATTLE TIMES, 11/18)....The Charlotte New Arena Committee
completed its three-city arena tour Wednesday with stops at
the First Union Center in Philadelphia and the MCI Center in
D.C. A "majority of committee members seem to favor"
construction of an uptown arena for the Hornets "even if
some public money were needed." The trip cost city
     taxpayers $20,000 (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 11/19).
...Ticketmaster will take over ticketing services from BASS
for the Oakland Coliseum complex (CONTRA COSTA TIMES,
11/18)....Cardinals VP Michael Bidwill, on whether the
team's on-field performance would impact public approval of
a proposed new AZ stadium: "The project makes sense
regardless of what (the Cardinals) record is. Look at the
Superdome in New Orleans. It doesn't matter how many games
the Saints have won or lost. That Dome has made a huge
     economic impact" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 11/18).
