The first project for the film production company Ways
and Means, headed by veteran producer Jason Clark, is slated
to be a film about Arena Football. Ways and Means has
signed an exclusive deal with the AFL to develop the project
over the next year, with a possible due date of late 2000.
Ways and Means is currently searching for a writer for the
untitled project. Ways & Means VP/Development & Production
Warren Davis calls the film "a comedy with a heart."
Clark's filmography includes TriStar's "Homegrown" with
Billy Bob Thornton. He is currently producing "Stuart
Little," which stars Geena Davis (AFL).
HOOPS DREAMS, PART II: Leandra Reilly, who in '88
became the first woman to call play-by-play for an NBA game,
has written and co-directed "Kaz, Running Down a Dream."
The film, which will be completed in early '99, is the story
of Nicole Kaczmarski, the highly-recruited Long Island HS
point guard. The film, in development over four years, will
begin with Kaczmarski declaring her collegiate intentions,
(which will be announced this month), and will chronicle her
high school career. The film is co-directed by North Shore
Entertainment President Marino Amoruso (THE DAILY).
