PENGUINS OWE $127M TO CREDITORS, INCLUDING CURRENT PLAYERS

The "most comprehensive listing" of the Penguins' debts
to date was filed Monday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court and
revealed the team owes "about" $127M to a host of creditors,
which is $10M less than the total that has been reported,
according to Ann Belser of the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE. The
team owes signing bonuses and deferred payments to Mario
Lemieux, six current Penguins and 11 minor and junior league
players in their system. Meanwhile, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge
Bernard Markovitz will hold a hearing tomorrow on whether or
not to approve the $20M loan the team secured through
     Societe Generale (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 11/18).
