FRANCHISE NOTES

          NPSL Crunch Owner George Hoffman is "under
     investigation" by the NYSE for his handling of securities
     and accounts while at OH-based Wheat First Butcher Singer
     brokerage firm (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 11/15).  NPSL
     Commissioner Steve Paxos, on Hoffman's status: "I don't
     necessarily think that an owner's problems would have an
     affect of the team" (PLAIN DEALER, 11/16)....Chiefs Owner
     Lamar Hunt, following the Chiefs' 30-7 loss to the Broncos,
     and a penally-filled fourth-quarter: "I thought we disgraced
     this organization and certainly this community tonight"
     (K.C. STAR, 11/17)...NFL Europe awarded its newest franchise
     to Berlin, Germany, to be named the Thunder (NFLEL).
