          Jazz F KARL MALONE made a "spontaneous" announcement on
     his KXTA-AM talk-show in L.A that he doesn't plan on
     returning to the Jazz.  The news came one day after KALL-AM
     in Utah dropped his simulcast: "The media is the reason I
     don't want to come back to Utah" (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 11/12).
     ...Univ. of RI C LAMAR ODOM attracted 41 NBA scouts to his
     college debut against Vanderbilt in which he scored 20
     points (TENNESSEAN, 11/11)....Former MSG Boxing Publicist
     HARRY MARKSON passed away on Tuesday evening.  Markson
     joined the Garden staff in '33 and spent 40 years with MSG
     (N.Y. TIMES, 11/12)....Vikings Owner RED MCCOMBS will be
     inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame tonight (S.A.
     EXPRESS NEWS, 11/12)....The Ft. Lauderdale Downtown
     Development Authority will discuss whether to erect a statue
     of NHL Panthers/Dolphins Owner WAYNE HUIZENGA in a downtown
     plaza area in honor of his contributions to the Broward
     County area (SUN-SENTINEL, 11/12)....USA TODAY profiles USA
     Boxing Exec Dir CHRIS CAMPBELL, whose federation is "still
     recovering from a financial scandal two years ago."  USAB
     President GARY TONEY estimates the NGB's debt is down to
     $750,000 and "will be cleared by 2004" (USA TODAY, 11/12).
