MAGIC FLUTIE LEADS BUYERS TO CLUB SEATS IN BILLS STADIUM

The Bills sold "more than" 500 new sideline club seats
in the five days since Bills QB Doug Flutie helped beat the
Jaguars last Sunday, according to Gene Warner of the BUFFALO
NEWS. Reaching the December 1 goal of $11M in luxury and
club seat sales to keep the team in Buffalo, "considered
almost unthinkable two weeks ago, now seems like a
possibility." Sales of luxury boxes and club seats "have
climbed" to $8.9M, and "unless the sales effort falls apart
completely, insiders expect the bottom-line figure to exceed
$10 million, with enough sales momentum to persuade the
Bills to stay." Warner wrote that last week, 180
"prospective" buyers toured Bills Stadium, and "almost" 75%
took purchase contracts with them (BUFFALO NEWS, 10/23).
HELP ON THE WAY: In Toronto, Sun Media President & CEO
Paul Godfrey has helped the Bills promote club seat sales by
taking "on a promotion" of 450 seats. Most of his support
has come "in the form of ads" for the club seats in the 140-
newspaper Sun Media chain (TORONTO SUN, 10/26).
