WOMEN'S SPORTS FOUNDATION DELAYS WOMEN'S GLOBAL CHALLENGE

The Women's Sports Foundation Board of Trustees has
elected not to move forward with a proposed '99 Women's
Global Challenge and will instead shift its focus toward a
2001 launch of the DC-based event. Women's Sports
Foundation President Benita Fitzgerald Mosley: "We found
corporate America to be very receptive and excited about the
event. However, 1999 sponsorship resources were simply not
available to assure the level of support we needed for a
first-class launch of the Challenge" (Women's Sports
Foundation). Both Lifetime and CBS had signed as media
partners for the '99 Global Challenge (THE DAILY).
