MEDIA NOTES

PLEASE NOTE, final weekend ratings were not available.
OTHER NOTES: Despite an earlier report saying that ABC
used outdated camera shots in showing Jacksonville's skyline
during Monday night's game, ABC "is now saying that most of
the pictures ... were not file footage but were live shots."
Some of the "beauty" shots weren't live, as on two occasions
the AccuStaff building was shown with an old sign that read
Independent Life. Wednesday, ABC spokesperson Paul Bennett
told the FL TIMES-UNION that the net doesn't "go out and
rent helicopters" for every game. ABC Dir of Media
Relations Mark Mandel said yesterday that "technical
malfunction" caused the use of the file footage. Mandel:
"We try to get as current pictures as we can" (TIMES-UNION,
10/16)....N.Y. Times Co. (NYTC), publisher of Golf Digest,
filed suit in NY Supreme Court "to block the sale" of Weider
Publications' Senior Golfer to Golf Magazine publisher Times
Mirror Magazines. The suit accuses Weider "of reneging on a
deal" to sell Senior Golfer to NYTC (AD AGE, 10/16).
