SENATORS SET SIGHTS ON HIGHER OFFICE IN TICKET SALES

Despite making "great strides" in Senators' season-
ticket sales this year, team President Roy Mlakar said he's
"determined" to get them past their current level of 10,500,
according to Bruce Garrioch of the OTTAWA SUN. Though the
Senators signed up "close" to 1,500 new subscribers this
off-season, up from 9,100 in '97, Mlakar "is concerned" as
the team will still have to sell 8,000 individual seats on
game days. Mlakar: "It's too much inventory to move on a
game day." The team had a 92% renewal rate this off-season.
The team would like to reach the league average of "around"
13,000 season ticket plans (OTTAWA SUN, 10/16).
