This week, "Inside Edition" will air a report which
features hidden video cameras in Yankee Stadium and Shea
Stadium videotaping "teenagers and 20-year-olds buying beer"
(N.Y. POST, 9/29)....The Charlotte City Council has given
the OK to members of the New Arena Committee to take a two-
day trip in November to arenas in DC, Philadelphia and
Cleveland, voting to spend up to $20,000 for the 15 members
plus staff to travel on the Hornets' private jet (CHARLOTTE
OBSERVER, 9/29)....In Toronto, Michael Grange took an
extensive look at Montreal-based FieldTurf Inc., and its
suit against Southwest Recreational Industries,
manufacturers of Astroturf. FieldTurf's revenues, around
C$3M in '97, are expected to jump to C$9M this year and "are
projected to triple" to C$27M by '99 (GLOBE & MAIL, 9/25).
....In AZ, Administrator for the Maricopa County Stadium
District Roger Brendecke said that Bank One Ballpark has
"operated probably as well as we ever could have hoped. ...
This thing has gone smoother and had less problems than some
single-family homes." But according to Bill Muller of the
ARIZONA REPUBLIC, the park had "its share of troubles. The
grass never quite took hold. The air conditioning needed
some tweaking" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 9/27).
