          More than 2,000 people attended the funeral of FLORENCE
     GRIFFITH JOYNER on Saturday in CA.  USOC President BILL HYBL
     announced a special exhibit to be opened at the USOC
     headquarters in the spring to honor Griffith Joyner's
     accomplishments (Mult., 9/27)....Former NBA ref JOE FORTE
     was sentenced Friday to nine months' home confinement and
     fined $20,000, after pleading guilty to federal tax fraud
     (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 9/27)....ESPN anchor CHRIS MCKENDRY
     married EDUARDO NILS TARTO ANDRADE on Saturday in CT. 
     Andrade will become an associate at NY law firm Whitman
     Breed Abbott & Morgan.  The two met in VA (N.Y. TIMES, 9/27)
     ....RALPH SEAGRAVES, the head of R.J. Reynolds' special
     events operations, now known as Sports Marketing
     Enterprises, died on Sunday at the age of 69.  During his
     tenure, from '72-85, RJR began its sponsorship with NASCAR
     and the National Hot Rod Assoc. (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 9/28).
