MCDOUGALL SAYS HIS BID FOR BLUE JAYS HAS COOLED

Don McDougall, the London-based entrepreneur who helped
bring the Blue Jays to Toronto in '76, "confirmed yesterday
his involvement with purchasing [the team] from Belgian
brewer Interbrew SA is at a standstill," according to Bob
Elliott of the TORONTO SUN. McDougall: "It is accurate to
say we're at a halt right now. But it is important to make
it clear that I am only speaking for myself. ... It is
unfair for me to speculate on other groups." McDougall was
looking to assemble a group to buy 90% of the Jays, 49% of
SkyDome and 100% of the CFL Argos. Former Celtics and Nets
Owner Alan Cohen is believed to be among the other bidders
interested in the Blue Jays (TORONTO SUN, 9/23).
