AFL OWNER HOLLIS GODFREY ABOUT TO JOIN THE STRAY KATS

          Hollis Godfrey, one of the co-Owners of the AFL
     Nashville Kats, has agreed to sell his 19.5% interest in the
     team, according to Charles Searcy of the Nashville
     TENNESSEAN.  Godfrey is "believed to be in the running" to
     lead a new expansion team, possibly in L.A. or San Antonio,
     and league rules prohibit anyone having "financial
     responsibility" for more than one AFL team.  Co-Owner Mark
     Bloom said the team would split Godfrey's share between new
     local owners.  The new owners will be announced next week.
     Bloom will replace Godfrey as the team's rep at the league
     meetings scheduled for mid-October (TENNESSEAN, 9/23).
