          Fox Sports took out a full-page ad in USA TODAY touting
     Fox Sports News.  The ad reads: "Where would you turn for
     the best sports news?  Fact: Fox Sports News is fed by 22
     regional networks -- who are there before, during and after
     their telecasts of more than 3,500 pro games a year.  Fact:
     ESPN?  They telecast about 225.  So, which sports news show
     has the inside scoop?  News directly from the source,
     because we are the source" (USA TODAY, 9/14)....Marv Albert
     returns to TV tonight at 11:00pm ET on MSG's half-hour
     "SportsDesk" news show (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/14)....The N.Y.
     DAILY NEWS's NetGuide ranked NL team Web sites, with the
     "Winners" being the Expos, Cardinals, Dodgers and Giants
     (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/13)....Darren Pang will remain an NHL
     analyst with ESPN "after failing to come to terms on a
     contract" with the Blackhawks and the team's broadcast
     partners, WMAQ-AM and Fox Sports Chicago (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES,
     9/12)....In N.Y., Keith Kelly reports that two-time WNBA MVP
     Cynthia Cooper has agreed to a book deal with Warner Books,
     for "an estimated" $200,000.  While no ghost-writer has been
     selected, Warner, which reportedly won a "down-to-the-buzzer
     auction" against Doubleday, expects to have the book out
     next year (N.Y. POST, 9/13)....SportsTicker has renewed its
     license with the NFL to disseminate in-progress game updates
     (SportsTicker)...."ET"'s Bob Goen reported that Tim Allen is
     on the cover of the new TV Guide for most of the U.S., but
     "New Yorkers will get one of six special editions of the
     magazine with Yankee ballplayers on the cover" ("ET," 9/11).
