BUFFETT TOUTS BENEFITS OF BILLS TO BUFFALO COMMUNITY

Warren Buffett "described the importance of keeping the
Bills in Buffalo" to local business leaders during a
Wednesday trip to the city, according to Gene Warner of the
BUFFALO NEWS. Buffett is helping the Bills and local
businesses sell $11M in luxury boxes and club seats for the
'99 season to "trigger the release" of $63.25M in state-
funded stadium renovations and "ensure" the team of staying
in Buffalo through 2003. Buffett, on an NFL team: "It's a
little like virginity. It can be preserved, but not
restored. If this community loses it, you're not going to
get it back." He added that if Buffalo did end up losing
the Bills it would be a "huge blow" to the city, and if it
"somehow managed" to get another franchise it would pay "a
lot more" for the privilege (BUFFALO NEWS, 9/10).
