JOCK JAMS WITH KOBE: BRYANT INKS RECORD DEAL W/COLUMBIA

          Lakers G KOBE BRYANT has signed a record deal with
     Columbia, "which expects him to enter the studio in the
     coming weeks to record his first album in time for the      
     NBA's coming season," according to David Sprague of the N.Y.
     POST.  Sprague: "Label sources insist that Bryant is a real
     talent, and not merely a marquee name to exploit."  But they
     want to "round out his studio team" with experienced artists 
     such as NAS and WYCLEF JEAN of the FUGEES (N.Y. POST, 8/30).
