Univ. of Houston AD Chet Gladchuk "places" new men's basketball coach Clyde Drexler's "economic impact at nearly" $1.5M at the ticket window, according to Jerry Wizig of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. The Cougars have sold almost 5,000 season tickets at $150 each, more than 250 VIP floor seats at $1,000 per and 20 luxury boxes being built on the concourse level. The luxury boxes cost $15,000 a season for a three-year lease (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 8/24). Houston's KTBU-TV, a new station, "has reached a multiyear agreement to carry an undetermined number of UH basketball games beginning this fall" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 8/25).
