MEDIA NOTES

Ottawa Sports Radio has signed a deal to carry 51 NFL
games this season, including CBS Radio's Monday and Sunday
night broadcasts (OTTAWA SUN, 8/22)....In Las Vegas, Jay
Richards wrote that the NTRA "will be missing a sure bet if
it fails to capitalize on the rapidly growing audience
available through the Internet," and that the "logical next
step would be a program of feature races to be shown on the
Internet, perhaps beginning on weekends, and later expand to
     daily." (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 8/23)....Yankees OF/DH
Darryl Strawberry "is working on" a book about his life, co-
written by Yankees radio announcer Michael Kay (N.Y. POST,
8/23)....In a Guest Column for the N.Y. DAILY NEWS, G.D.
Clay wrote on media ethics and noted that at the recent
National Association of Black Journalists Convention in
Washington, DC, ESPN's David Aldridge wondered if there is
"a racial agenda at Sports Illustrated," and cited SI's
cover story on out-of-wedlock children of NBA players, a
story titled "What Ever Happened to the White Athlete?" and
a story on Derrick Coleman being a "whiner." SI's Lester
Munson: "I was disappointed with the white athlete story.
... I hope my editors keep asking questions about what we
are doing" (G.D. Clay, N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 8/24).
