Mesa, AZ, city attorney Neal Beets said that plans for
an NFL Cardinals stadium and convention center may go before
voters this spring, as the three communities in the Rio
Salado Crossing Stadium District can legally vote on the
project this spring without changes to the existing state
law (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 8/21)....Air Canada Centre President
Richard Peddie said that 110 of the centre's 136 boxes have
already been leased for between $60,000 to $160,000 (TORONTO
STAR, 8/21). After being named SkyDome President yesterday,
Patrick McDougall said, "The SkyDome is still a marvel. They
are building and copying the attributes and certainly
physically copying the SkyDome all over the world (TORONTO
SUN, 8/21)....Univ. of KS could generate as much as $125,000
in additional signage revenue and add a handful of seats
after opting to switch the primary camera positions for
basketball games this season at Allen Field House. By
moving the cameras, the school can create a 94-foot signage
area facing the cameras along press row (K.C. STAR, 8/20).
