BUCCANEERING PAST TRENDS: CORPORATE SPONSORS SEEK OUT BUCS

adidas, which has an exclusive agreement with the Bucs
to provide uniforms and sideline apparel, also has personal
contracts with "several" Bucs players, including WR Karl
Williams and S John Lynch, according to Stroud & Hooper of
the ST. PETERSBURG TIMES. The company has begun a new ad
campaign -- "plastered on billboards" throughout Tampa --
featuring Williams with the tag, "Third-and-Williams."
Williams, who was with Reebok last year, "is happy about the
switch as well as his increasing visibility." Stroud &
Hooper also report that six other Bucs, including RB Warrick
Dunn, DT Warren Sapp, FB Mike Alstott and LB Hardy Nickerson
are "adorning cups at area McDonald's." The set of three
collectors cups are licensed in part by Players Inc, the
marketing arm of the NFLPA (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 8/20).
