"THERE'S SOMETHING" ABOUT AIRWALK'S ADS; REEBOK SIGNS RUNNER

For its upcoming back-to-school campaign, Airwalk "has
ditched" a musical inspired concept for "edgier creative
that finds humor in dismemberment and overflowing toilets,"
according to Jeff Jensen of AD AGE. Jensen wrote that
Airwalk's "change in course" for its $4M campaign marks a
"shift" in creative toward a "fearless sense of humor akin
to 'Monty Python's Flying Circus' and the current hit film
'There's Something About Mary.'" The campaign will start in
early August and run on MTV, ESPN, ESPN2 and during episodes
of Comedy Central's "South Park" (AD AGE, 7/27).
HEY, YOU SEEN SULLY?! Reebok has signed Canadian
distance runner Kevin Sullivan to a deal that will earn him
a "minimum" of US$300,000 between now and the end of 2002.
The 24-year-old Sullivan will be featured in Reebok's
worldwide fall campaign (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 7/28).
