TRAFFIC ON THE ISLAND ONE CONCERN FOR GOODWILL GAMES

While Nassau County officials look forward to hosting
the Goodwill Games starting on Saturday, "one potential
nightmare hovers over their vision like a nagging summer
cold: Traffic." Officials hope that more than 12% of those
attending the games will take public transportation and there
are plans to use up to 70 buses, "depending on demand, to
routinely shuttle thousands of people from the train stations
and parking lots to the sporting events" (Monte Young,
     NEWSDAY, 7/17). Today's N.Y. POST features a 16-page special
advertising section on the Goodwill Games (7/16).
