FOREMAN-HOLMES: OLD MEN, SIT ON THE PARKBENCH LIKE...

          49-year-old George Foreman and 48-year-old Larry Holmes
     said that they will meet in the ring on January 23, either
     in Las Vegas or New York, according to Gerald Eskenazi of
     the N.Y. TIMES.  The fight, sponsored by Internet company 9
     Net Avenue, and Kremlyovskaya, a Russian vodka, will be
     televised on PPV.  Foreman will earn $10M for the bout,
     while Holmes will earn $4M.  Holmes, when asked if needed
     the money: "Everybody needs money" (N.Y. TIMES, 7/16).  In
     N.Y., Wallace Matthews writes on the bout under the header,
     "The Joke Has Gotten Old."  Citing the advanced age and
     increased risk for the fighters, Matthews notes, "Grumpy Old
     Men is funny.  Punchy Old Men is not" (N.Y. POST, 7/16).
