The current issue of FORBES lists "The World's Working Rich," a selection of the world's richest 200 billionaires "who are still earning it -- or are working with what they've inherited." News Corp. Chair Rupert Murdoch is FORBES' cover story, and Robert LaFranco writes, "This issue of Forbes is very much about the world's working rich: self- made magnates who built great businesses from scratch or from very little." LaFranco adds, "Until the day he dies, [Murdoch] will remain controversial." In a sidebar, Michael Ozanian examines Fox/Liberty's Fox Sports Net. Global Sports President Jim Drucker: "Murdoch was the first in cable to figure out that all sports is local. He will eventually have more profitable assets than ESPN" (FORBES, 7/6 issue). THE LIST: FORBES names ten people who "aren't necessarily the richest, but who we think are the smartest entrepreneurs of the group." THE DAILY highlights some of FORBES' billionaires holding sports interests. ^ = listed among FORBES' "smartest entrepreneurs" (FORBES, 7/6 issue).
