GENERAL MOTORS BECOMES PRESENTING SPONSOR OF "SPORTSCENTURY"

          General Motors has signed on as the presenting sponsor
     of ESPN's "SportsCentury," the 18-month event debuting in
     September that reviews the greatest sports events, athletes,
     coaches, dynasties and developments of the past 100 years. 
     GM will be featured throughout various "SportsCentury"
     initiatives, and will receive promotional spots during the
     60-plus hours of programming on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports. 
     GM will also tie-in to an area on ESPN SportsZone, be part
     of quarterly inserts in top 10 market newspapers, a year-end
     ESPN Magazine-produced "SportsCentury" commemorative issue
     and a 20-30 city "SportsCentury" tour (ESPN).
