FACILITY NOTES

          Harris County-Houston Sports Authority voted yesterday
     to "negotiate" with the Port of Houston Authority to acquire
     land it wants to convert into a park across from the Astros'
     new downtown ballpark (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 6/10)....New
     Augusta National Golf Club Chair Hootie Johnson made his
     first move as head of the club yesterday when he announced
     "sweeping changes to four holes on the 66-year-old course." 
     Augusta's second and 17th holes will be lengthened, the
     green on the 11th hole will be altered and trees will be
     added on the 15th hole.  The course alterations will be
     completed in time for the '99 Masters (AUGUSTA CHRONICLE,
     6/10)....The San Antonio Downtown Advisory Board yesterday
     "cautiously approved" the concept of redeveloping the city's
     Victoria Courts area, "possibly as a downtown arena complex"
     (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 6/10)....The NJ Sports &
     Exposition Authority, the NFL Giants and Jets have agreed to
     play home games on natural grass at Giants Stadium during
     three preseason games on August 8, 15 and 20 (NJSEA).
