LEAGUE NOTES

NHL: Referees working the remainder of the Stanley Cup
playoffs "have been instructed to consult video review on
all goals where there's even a question of an in-the-crease
infraction," according to Larry Brooks of the N.Y. POST.
The edict returns officials to the standard under which they
worked last year's playoffs as well as the first month of
the '97-98 regular season (Larry Brooks, N.Y. POST, 5/29).
NOTES: Rapper/Actor L.L Cool J was at SkyDome
yesterday, filming a promotional spot for MLB. The project
is aimed at attracting younger fans to the sport. L.L. Cool
J was scheduled to film bits with Jose Canseco, Randy Myers,
Kenny Lofton and David Justice (TORONTO SUN, 5/29)....The
U.S. Soccer Federation will unveil details of its Project
2010 program in D.C. today. Through the program, which is
sponsored by Nike, the USSF will spend "about" $50M to
recruit and train players as young as 13, hoping to meet its
goal of winning the World Cup by 2010 (USA TODAY, 5/29).
