FACILITY NOTES

The city of Toronto is "being urged to consider buying
Union Station." Estimates of the building's worth range
from C$100M-600M (TORONTO STAR, 5/29)....The Univ. of MD's
College Park campus needs $20-25M in private money to pay
for part of a new $106M basketball arena. Unless alumni
come up with the money, the new arena "probably will have a
corporate name" (Christian Ewell, Baltimore SUN, 5/29).
...SkyDome Food Services was the recipients of the
"Lifestyle Approved Award" for its Windows restaurant. The
award is given for high standards in Nutrition and Food
Safety (Blue Jays)....In St. Paul, Charley Walters reports,
"Some heavy-duty planning" is under way in an attempt by
Ogden Entertainment, which operates the Target Center, to
acquire control of the Metrodome. Walters: "The goal is to
get better working arrangements for the Vikings and Twins"
(PIONEER PRESS, 5/29)....The board of the Stadium Authority
of Pittsburgh "reluctantly agreed" yesterday to pay $21,340
in legal bills related to Plan B. The bills, from law firm
Buchanan Ingersoll, are for work done from January through
April. Board Member Conrad Johnson "objected to the bills
because they did not provide any detail of the work done."
Johnson: "Don't most law firms submit itemized bills?"
     (Pittsburgh TRIBUNE-REVIEW, 5/29).
