EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          The 76ers named BILLY KING as their GM.  King had been
     the team's VP/Basketball Administration since June '97
     (76ers)....VIC GARVEY, NBC's Special Events Organizer, has
     been given the additional title of Senior VP for the NBC's
     Olympic coverage (N.Y. POST, 5/20)....Penske Corp. Founder &
     Chair ROGER PENSKE was elected Chair of the Detroit
     Investment Fund (CRAIN'S DETROIT BUSINESS, 5/11)....In
     Portland, the Trail Blazers named MELINDA GABLE Dir of
     Corporate & Community Affairs.  Gable worked in Nike's PR
     department for nine years (Trail Blazers).
