NBC/TURNER TARGET THE ORANGE BOWL FOR NEW FOOTBALL VENUE

          NBC and Turner "have targeted the Orange Bowl" as the
     home for a Miami team if they go ahead with plans to launch a
     pro football league to oppose the NFL, according to Barry
     Jackson of the MIAMI HERALD.  A "broadcast industry source"
     said that an official with the NBC/Turner venture "has made
     contact with the city to inquire" about the stadium's
     availability.  One source of Jackson's said that the league
     is "on target to launch in 1999, but a final decision has not
     been made."  Jackson also reports that the NBC/Turner league
     "might merge" with the All American Football League, which is
     scheduled to begin next March (MIAMI HERALD, 5/14).
