EVERYTHING GOES? HUIZENGA DOESN'T RULE OUT SELLING PANTHERS

Marlins Owner Wayne Huizenga said Tuesday that "there's
a good chance he will sell SportsChannel Florida, and he
hasn't ruled out selling" the NHL Panthers, according to
Barry Jackson of the MIAMI HERALD. Huizenga: "Anything I
have is for sale." Huizenga, however, "does not appear to
have any intention" of selling the Dolphins or Pro Player
Stadium. Huizenga said he has no plans to sell the Panthers
"now," and that it "would depend on the circumstances." He
declined to elaborate on those circumstances. However,
"several sources said they expect Huizenga to consider
selling the team eventually, perhaps as early as this fall."
Huizenga also confirmed that "some consideration" has been
given to removing the Panthers from its public company,
Panthers Holdings. Meanwhile, sources said that Huizenga
"very likely" will sell his 70% interest in SportsChannel FL
to Cablevision. The deal is contingent on Marlins President
Don Smiley completing his acquisition of the Marlins from
Huizenga (Barry Jackson, MIAMI HERALD, 5/13).
