REPORT HAS STREET & SMITH'S CLOSE ON DEAL FOR THE DAILY

          Sports magazine publisher Street & Smith's "has agreed
     to buy the elite industry newsletter" The Sports Business
     Daily from Times Mirror for $1.3M, according to Michael
     Shain of the N.Y. POST.  The deal "is set to close later
     this week," and comes as Street & Smith's debuts its new
     magazine SportsBusiness Journal.  Shain writes that the
     purchase of The Sports Business Daily "makes Street & Smith
     the main trade magazine publisher in the fast-growing sports
     marketing and management business" (N.Y. POST, 4/29).
