          Mickey Mantle Properties has hired CA-based Int'l
     Creative Management (ICM) for representation in the motion
     picture, TV, endorsement, interactive, literary and
     commercial areas (ICM)....USA TODAY's Steve Ballard charts
     Lyn St. James' quest for additional sponsors before she
     races for the Indy 500.  Lyn St. James Racing currently
     receives financial support from Lifetime TV (USA TODAY,
     4/29)....Spalding Sports Worldwide, effective April 30, will
     end its agency relationship with NJ-based The Sherry Group
     which has handled Spalding since '92 (BRANDWEEK, 4/27
     issue)....USA TODAY's Carolyn White reports that more people
     are following the Whitbread yacht race due to expanded news
     coverage and an up-to-date Web site that averages 13 million
     hits per day.  EF Education, which spent $18M to sponsor two
     boats, will conduct a study at the conclusion of the event
     to measure the financial impact of its sponsorship, based on
     how much it would cost to launch a similar campaign using
     more traditional advertising (USA TODAY, 4/29)....Alexi
     Lalas has become the first-ever spokesperson for Sybase,
     Inc., the official software supplier to France '98 World Cup
     (SportsNet)....Clash F Eric Wynalda signed as a partner with
     the Official All Star Cafe, and will be featured in all of
     the Official All Star Cafe venues worldwide (SportsNet).    
          CORRECTION: A report cited in THE DAILY on Tuesday
     incorrectly characterized ISI CEO Frank Vuono's relationship
     with the NFL's QB Club.  Vuono did help create the group but
     he never held an interest in the organization.
