STAR TRIBUNE'S HARTMAN REPORTS THAT CLANCY'S BID IN TROUBLE

          The financial statement presented by prospective
     Vikings Owner Tom Clancy to the NFL "is not even close to
     being strong enough to get approval to buy" the team,
     according to a "very informed source" cited by Sid Hartman
     of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE.  Hartman adds that if the
     NFL voted this week, Clancy "would not get approved." 
     Clancy's spokesperson, Marc Ganis, said the group would have
     18 stockholders, but Hartman writes, "You can rest assured
     that the league will not go for an 18-owner group, and
     unless Clancy can present a much better financial statement,
     he will not be owner of the Vikings" (STAR TRIBUNE, 4/29).
