OAKLEY CHAIR JIM JANNARD GIVES UP BONUS AFTER PROFITS DROP

          Oakley Chair & President Jim Jannard decided to forgo
     compensation in '97, "a year in which the sunglasses
     supplier saw its profits sag," according to Patrice Apodaca
     of the L.A. TIMES.  Oakley spokesperson Renee Law said that
     Jannard decided in mid-'96 "to waive all future salary and
     link his compensation entirely to the ... company's
     returns."  In addition to not drawing a salary, Jannard did
     not receive stock options or a bonus last year, according to
     Oakley's SEC proxy statement (L.A. TIMES, 4/28).
