WILL THE CLOSER BE BROUGHT IN TO SEAL CLANCY'S VIKINGS DEAL?

NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue "has problems with both
what he knows and what he doesn't know about the structure
and financing" of Tom Clancy's Vikings ownership group,
according to Parrish & Banks of the Minneapolis STAR
TRIBUNE. The league's "two main concerns" are believed to
be the structure of the debt carried by Clancy's group, and
the "fact that the league doesn't know" who is in the group.
NFL VP/Communications Greg Aiello said that no "final buyer
group has been identified." On Friday, Clancy rep Marc
Ganis confirmed that Tom Selleck is a "potential minority
investor in the group," although he "has not decided whether
to invest." Ganis also said the league "should have the
required information on all but one or two of the five or so
remaining investors" later next week (STAR TRIBUNE, 4/18).
NO MAS ON MOSS? Clancy said that he "wasn't consulted"
before the Vikings chose Randy Moss at this weekend's NFL
Draft. Clancy, on Moss' past: "You give a dog one bite.
We'll work on that" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 4/19).
