ALL THE WHITE STUFF: ENDORSEMENTS IN JEOPARDY AFTER REMARKS

Comments made by Packers DE Reggie White on race and
homosexuality "might have left his endorsement deals" with
Campbell Soup and Nike "up in the air," according to Robert
Imrie of the AP. Nike spokesperson Tony Tijerino: "We have
not made any judgements, but it is under review." Campbell
spokesperson Ronni Heyman said that the company "has been
trying to contact White," whose endorsement deal expires next
week. Heyman: "His comments are not consistent with the
principles of the Campbell Soup company, but at this time,
until we speak directly to Reggie White, we're not going to
go any further in talking about the future." A coalition of
gay and lesbian groups "called on Campbell to sever ties with
White, and asked the NFL to publicly censure him" for his
     recent remarks (AP/DETROIT NEWS, 3/28).
