HAWKS-BULLS MATCHUP NOT LIKELY TO BREAK ATTENDANCE RECORD

The Hawks will place 3,000 additional tickets on sale,
at $5 each, for Friday's game against the Bulls at the
Georgia Dome, according to Jeffrey Denberg of the ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION. The proceeds from the ticket sale will go to
relief for victims of last week's tornado in GA (ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION, 3/26). In Chicago, Lacy Banks reports that
the move means the team can sell 57,000 tickets to the game.
But the Hawks were "hoping to get a chance" to break the
league's attendance record of 61,983 set by the Pistons in
'88 at the Silverdome. Hawks Dir of Media Relations Arthur
Triche said that Georgia Dome officials have "a problem"
with selling too many seats with obstructed view. Triche:
"So we will stop at 57,000 unless the dome changes its mind
at the last minute" (Lacy Banks, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 3/26)
