              DAN CASEY was named VP/GM of Fox Sports World.  A three
         year employee of Fox/Liberty, Casey most recently served as
         VP/Research & Planning at Fox Sports West and FSW2 (FSWo).
         ...HOWARD BALDWIN JR., who had been GM of the Penguins
         Iceoplex practice facility, has left there "to concentrate
         on duties" with the ECHL Wheeling Nailers.  Penguins Co-
         Owner ROGER MARINO said Baldwin was "bored at Iceoplex"
         (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 3/17)....LYDIA SHAW has been named
         Affiliate Sales Account Exec with Fox Sports South.  Shaw
         comes from Turner Network Sales, where she has worked as a
         Sales Assistant for over a year (FSS).....DREW REIFENBERGER
         was named VP/Brand Sales at Turner Broadcasting, from
         VP/Sports Marketing at Turner Sports (BRANDWEEK, 3/16).

              Rockets F CLYDE DREXLER "today will be named the new
         men's head basketball coach" at the Univ. of Houston,
         according to Jerry Wizig of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE.  Drexler,
         who plans on retiring at the conclusion of this season, has
         been offered a multi-year deal worth an "estimated" $300,000
         annually (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 3/18)....Former White House
         intern MONICA LEWINSKY sat three rows behind the Wizards
         bench last night for their game versus the Nuggets.  In DC,
         Ric Bucher writes that Wizards players were "poking each
         other and craning their necks to get a peek" at Lewinsky
         (WASHINGTON POST, 3/18)....Yankees Assistant GM KIM NG is
         profiled by Elizabeth Cohen in today's N.Y. POST.  Cohen, on
         Ng being the team's first female in a top management
         position: "At a time when women have made incredible headway
         in other sports ... baseball lags behind the pack" (N.Y.
         POST, 3/18)....GQ tabs MUHAMMAD ALI as the "Athlete of the
         Century" on its April cover, and devotes much of the issue
         to Ali ("Today," NBC, 3/18)....SPIKE LEE's ad agency, Spike
         DDB, is profiled by Stuart Elliott in the N.Y. TIMES.  Lee
         said he "chafes at the agency's being classified as a
         specialist in 'urban marketing.'"  Lee: "[W]e don't want to
         limit ourselves to urban marketing, because, let's be
         honest, a lot of times urban marketing is a code word for
         African-American, black, when the demographics you can
         successfully reach go beyond that" (N.Y. TIMES, 3/18)....
         Lawyer A.J. FAIGIN's trial against former Bills QB JIM KELLY
         got underway Tuesday in NH.  Faigin is charging Kelly with
         libel after Kelly wrote in his book that Faigin "mishandled
         his money."  Faigin said that he has lost "more than" $1M in
         business because of the book (AP/DETROIT NEWS, 3/18).
              AGENT ORANGE: Cuban sports agent JOE CUBAS was profiled
         in the Toronto GLOBE & MAIL.  Cubas has brought "about 20"
         Cubans to the U.S. to play MLB, including Marlins World
         Series MVP LIVAN HERNANDEZ.  Cubas, on his relationship with
         his clients: "I think the key to being a good agent is being
         a good human being.  It's not what you can do for them as an
         agent.  When you make a list of what I am to them, agent is
         at the bottom of the list" (GLOBE & MAIL, 3/17)....MLB agent
         SCOTT BORAS does "The One-Minute Interview" with Laura
         Washington in the April edition of MONEY.  Boras, on his
         "cardinal rule for negotiating retail purchases": "Determine
         what the seller is willing to sell for without ever advising
         them what you're willing to buy for" (MONEY, 4/98 issue).
