INTERSPORT TEAMS WITH LIFETIME NETWORK ON WOMEN'S EVENTS

IL-based Intersport TV will join Lifetime to produce
the inaugural Lifetime Basketball Festival, which will match
eight collegiate teams over two days in January '99,
according to Langdon Brockinton of MEDIAWEEK. Intersport is
looking to "sell a title sponsorship" for the event, in
addition to producing the telecasts, and will also produce
Lifetime's broadcast of the Honda All-Star Challenge
collegiate event set to air March 28. In other news,
Intersport is "looking to pitch either a title sponsorship
or two co-presenting sponsorships" for the U.S. Collegiate
Golf Championships, airing April 4 and 5 on ESPN. Eleven
top U.S. teams and one Japanese team will participate in the
event (Langdon Brockinton, MEDIAWEEK, 3/9 issue).
