GREAT NUMBERS FOR LAST YEAR'S GREATER HARTFORD OPEN

Despite "several adverse factors," last year's Canon
Greater Hartford Open (GHO) "netted" $1.59M, the second
largest profit for the Greater Hartford Jaycees in the
tournament's 46-year history, according to Bruce Berlet of
the HARTFORD COURANT. Bad weather curtailed attendance and
"several significant investments" were made in the
tournament, including a new manual leaderboard, along with
new bleachers, landscaping and electrical work. The event's
four-day attendance "matched" the second-highest ever,
     behind 310,000 in '94 (HARTFORD COURANT, 2/26).
