NHL WINTER BREAK ACTIVITIES, PART IV: TODAY, THE NORTHEAST

          THE DAILY concludes its profiles of NHL teams' Winter
     Break activities.  Today, the Northeast Division:
          BRUINS: "Skate with the Stars": Benefit for MA Youth
     Hockey where fans can skate with Bruins players; Int'l
     Hockey Show & Conference February 20-22: trade show in
     Marlboro, MA.  Players will attend throughout the weekend,
     interactive games for kids, Stanley Cup.  Tix cost $7;
     Bruins project 30,000 attendees over the three days.  
          SABRES: Sabres Alumni vs. '80 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team,
     on the 18-year anniversary of '80 gold medal game at Lake
     Placid.  Head coach Lindy Ruff and asst. coach Don Lever
     will play for Sabres Alumni.  Asst. Coach Mike Ramsey will
     play for the '80 Olympic squad.  Tix: $7 (drew 16,000 last
     year and with Olympic tie-in expecting sellout).  
          HURRICANES: "Newspaper in Education" contest sponsored
     by News & Observer and team where essay winner hosts
     Hurricane Olympians Keith Primeau and Sami Kapanen at an
     assembly at his/her elementary school; other finalists
     receive four tix each to a Hurricanes game; Winner of
     "Hurricanes Classroom Celebrity" elementary school contest
     receives visit by F Nelson Emerson.
          CANADIENS: Annual Blood Donor Clinic at the Molson
     Centre, full team participation.  Approx. 1,000 donors each
     year.  No cost; Two hockey games featuring AHL Fredericton
     Canadiens; Open practice free to the public. 
          SENATORS: Nike/NHL Street Hockey Program: Three players
     conduct Skills Clinic for kids; Practice open to public. 
          PENGUINS: Make-A-Wish Party: 30 Make-A-Wish Children
     and families attend luncheon and practice (THE DAILY).
