NAMES IN THE NEWS

          JERRY SEINFELD and LINDA FIORENTINO are among those
     interviewed on the special "NBA Hollywood," airing Sunday on
     NBC (NBAE)....KEITH HERNANDEZ was contacted by "Seinfeld,"
     and asked to keep the first week of April open.  Hernandez,
     who previously appeared on the show, may be in the series
     finale ("Access Hollywood," 2/12)....JOHN FEINSTEIN will
     write a follow-up to his '95 book "A Good Walk Spoiled,"
     focusing on golf's majors in '98 (GOLF, 3/98)....KOBE BRYANT
     was a guest on the "Tonight Show."  Bryant, on growing his
     hair: "Seventeen years old, coming out to L.A., clean start,
     6'5", no hair.  Now I've got hair, all of the sudden I'm
     6'7".  It's just an afro.  I'm fooling people.  My secret's
     out" (NBC,  2/12)....Padres Owner JOHN MOORES plans to
     donate an additional $2M to San Diego State for the
     construction of a new tennis facility (UNION-TRIBUNE, 2/12).
