KONFUSION IN KANATA? SENATORS GO ON, SANS OFFICIAL WEB PAGE

A dispute between the Senators and the creators of the
team's official fan Web site, George Valenzuela and Fraser
MacKenzie, "came to a head last week, prompting the latter
two to cease operation of the fan forum," according to Don
Brennan of the OTTAWA SUN. Valenzuela, who began the Web
site with MacKenzie two years ago, "claims the Senators have
been negligent in living up to terms of the contract,"
including not providing players for chat rooms and other
things that "weren't developed." But the "final straw,
apparently, was when the club told the pair to change
wording at the top of the page," which had read: Ottawa
Senators Fan Inter-Network, because the term "network" was
already in use in the marketplace. Brennan reports that the
Senators reacted with "surprise" that the page had been
terminated. A team official "denied the club saw the end of
the page as good news" (OTTAWA SUN, 2/12).
