IS DETROIT BELIEVING THIS MAY BE THE YEAR OF THE TIGERS?

The Tigers ticket department "is showing a new energy
now that the sellers are on commission for the first time,"
according to Tom Gage of the DETROIT NEWS. The Tigers have
launched an "aggressive campaign," making "hundreds of cold
calls a day." The team "could" see a 30% jump in season-
ticket packages to 8,500, and a "boost" in attendance from
1.4 million to "at least" 1.7 million (DETROIT NEWS, 1/28).
PIZZA PIZZA: BRANDWEEK examines Red Wings/Tigers Owners
Mike and Marian Ilitch's Little Caesars business under the

in '96, Little Caesars franchisees "charge the Ilitches with
being too distracted by the demands of their expanding
sports and entertainment empires" (BRANDWEEK, 1/26 issue).
