          MAGIC JOHNSON has signed with the William Morris Agency
     for representation in all areas (William Morris Agency).
     ..."A Savage Business: The Comeback and Comedown of MIKE
     TYSON," a new book by SI's RICHARD HOFFER, is reviewed by
     David Nicholson of the WASHINGTON POST.  Nicholson calls it
     "a mostly straightforward, but always riveting, account of
     how" DON KING engineered Tyson's comeback after his '95
     release from prison (WASHINGTON POST, 1/13)....JOHN SPANO
     pleaded guilty yesterday to lying to FleetBank to get an
     $80M loan to purchase the Islanders last year.  Spano is
     expected to be sentenced to between 33 and 63 months in
     prison under terms of the plea (NEWSDAY, 1/13).
