NAMES IN THE NEWS

          On "SportsCenter," ESPN's CHARLEY STEINER reported on
     GARY MILLER's plea bargain: "ESPN anchor Gary Miller pleaded
     no contest today to a disorderly conduct charge resulting
     from an incident at a Cleveland nightclub in October.  Miller
     was fined $250 and received a 30-day suspended sentence. 
     Charges of public indecency and resisting arrest were
     dropped" (ESPN, 12/16)....Twentieth Television has signed a
     deal for its MAGIC JOHNSON talk show with Fox O&Os where "The
     Magic House" is "expected" to be slotted at either 11:00 or
     11:30pm.  It would displace "The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show" in
     that slot (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 12/17)....Among the celebs at
     the Broncos-49ers "MNF" game were BO DEREK, JESSICA LANGE and
     OLIVER STONE.  Singer SEAL was also on the field and in the
     49ers locker room (S.F. EXAMINER, 12/16). ...Comedy Central's
     CRAIG KILBORN was suspended for a week without pay for
     sexually insensitive and "inappropriate comments" he made in
     an Esquire story about his relationship with the show's co-
     Creator/Writer LIZZ WINSTEAD (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 12/17).
